About the Product Care Kit

The Product Care Kit was developed by Mahana Tuimaka as part of her Master Graduation thesis for the Master Design for Interaction at Delft University of Technology.

The project was supervised by Laura Ackermann, researcher at University of Salzburg and PhD student at Delft University of Technology, Ruth Mugge, Professor at Delft University of Technology, Anna Pohlmeyer, Assistant Professor at Delft University of Technology and Stella Boess, Assistant professor at Delft University of Technology.

The Product Care Kit is a card set that aims to teach designers about Product care and provide inspiration on how to design for it. These strategies were developed iteratively with design students and designers from Delft University of Technology and University of Twente.

After Mahana’s graduation, the team continued working on the toolkit and presented it as a research paper at the Product Lifetimes and the Environment Conference in Berlin in September 2019. In addition, Mahana and Laura presented the toolkit in a workshop at the conference for attendees.
